COVER Art

I don’t think it’s really fair that Art Directors have to write cover letters. I personally dread them so took on a new approach.

UNICORN CROSSING
I was finding it hard to put my personality on paper and wanted to share a little more of myself with Digitas North America. So, I designed a cover letter letter to include a few of my favorite things in a style I hope they will appreciate.

I had the opportunity to freelance with digitas Atlanta after my linkedin post caught the attention of the EVP & strategy director.

Yeti Coolers is known for being off the grid and “Built for the Wild.” I took an organic, handwritten approach to inquire about an open creative position.

Even though I only got an automated rejection email from YETI, I recieved over 44k views on linkedin.

RANSOM NOTE OR COVER LETTER?
Even if you haven't heard of the The Martin Agency you know their work. They've built iconic brands and campaigns like GEICO, Buffalo Wild Wings and "Virginia is for Lovers." They're also hiring and I really, really want to work there so created this cover letter for them.
It's a personal quote created using graphics from their iconic advertising campaigns.

Although the Martin Agency didn’t hire me, they did provide some words of encouragement.

MESSIN’ W/ TEXAS
I was extremely excited to see that Austin’s McGarrah Jessee is looking for #artdirectors. I’ve been a big fan of their work for a while and wanted to get their attention with a cover letter that was both relevant and timely.* I may have added a little humor as well.

*Sent the morning after a snowstorm hit most of Texas in February.
